How to Make Minecraft Armor

The Benefits of Armor in the Video Game Minecraft

Clearly the purpose of armor in Minecraft is defense. But not only will it decrease the power of enemy attacks, it also decreases damage from falling and fire. The strength of your defense depends on how many pieces of armor you are wearing and the quality of those pieces, not the armor material itself.

Having a full suit untouched will yield ten defense, and every time you are hit, the durability of your armor will go down. Stronger materials increase the durability, therefore increasing its effectiveness and lifespan. The materials that can be used to make armor cheap uggs (in order of increasing durability) are leather, gold, iron, and diamond. To wear armor, place them in the column to the left of your character in the Minecraft inventory screen.

Crafting Helmets and Boots in Minecraft

The simplest and least expensive piece of armor to make in Minecraft is boots. At your work bench place your armor material as follows: two next to each other vertically on the left column, and then two next to each other vertically on the right column.

This will produce boots, which give 1.5 points of defense. To make a helmet, follow the same recipe except cheap ugg boots put a piece of a material in the center space of the grid (thus connecting the two stacks of material at their top). Wearing the helmet will give you 1.5 points of defense.

Crafting Pants and Chest Plates in Minecraft

To finish your suit of armor, you will need to craft pants and a chest plate, which both yield more defense than the helmets and boots do. The recipe for pants is as follows: fill the left and right columns of your work bench grid with armor material (leaving the middle column empty and using six materials), then place material on the top space of the center column. This will cost you seven materials and give you three defense.

For the chest plate, go to your grid and place materials as so: fill the left and right columns with materials, and then place material at the center space of the grid and the space beneath it. This piece costs the most (eight pieces of armor material) but it also provides the most defense at four armor points.

Chest plates are also the most efficient use of armor material as each material gives .5 points of defense, compared to pants' .43 points, boots' .37 points, and helmet's .3 points. So if you are going to make just one piece of armor, make it the chest plate.

As you can probably tell, armor is very expensive taking 24 materials for a full suit. Leather is easy enough to obtain from killing cows (sorry virtual vegans), but the 24 diamonds required to make the best suit of armor in the game is a steep order.
